Cadman’s Cottage, believed to be Sydney’s oldest surviving building, was built in 1816 to house the crews of the governor’s boats. It is a modest two-storey Georgian house. It was occupied from 1827 by John Cadman, a former convict who was boat superintendent. The cottage now houses the Sydney Harbour National Park information center.
