Lake Entrance is a very popular and traditional tourist town in Victoria, especially for Melburnians. It is the main center of the Lakes District region, and is Victoria’s largest fishing port. From the center of town, a footbridge (see photo) crosses from Cunningham’s Arm to the white-sand beaches of the magnificent Ninety Mile Beach, which is what the name suggests. There’s a scenic 2.3 km walking track up to the actual “entrance” where the river and lake meets the sea. Lots of cruise boats operate from Lake Entranceto tour the beautiful rivers and lakes. |
